It’s that time of year again. Spring is right around the corner – which for Dublin Arts Council board and staff members translates to: “Garden Party” time.  For those not familiar with our annual Garden Party fundraiser, it is an elegant, garden-inspired fundraising gala and the largest fundraiser of our year. We raised $31,000 in 2012 and these funds are integral to providing free events and exhibitions throughout the year for the Dublin community and beyond. Garden Party will be held Friday, April 26, 2013 from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at the OCLC Kilgour Building atrium in Dublin, 6565 Kilgour Place.

Garden Party is a wonderful way to celebrate spring, support the arts and learn more about Dublin Arts Council and our role in the community. Add fantastic food and wine selections, great company and live entertainment to the equation and it is an event not to be missed.

I’m pleased to announce that this year’s honorary chairs are Dave and Margie Amorose of Dublin. Over the past several months, Dave has completely transformed and revitalized the grounds at Dublin Arts Council by making incredible aesthetic improvements to the landscape and property.  He has worked tirelessly with friends and family to make Dublin Arts Center a showcase. It seems only fitting to honor his many efforts. We’re also happy to welcome back Colleen Marshall from NBC4 as our Master of Ceremonies as well as this year’s silent auction hosts, CW Stars Cameron and Alissa.

We deeply appreciate the OCLC staff’s continued generosity for hosting Garden Party in the beautiful Kilgour building atrium and welcome the opportunity to showcase this amazing space to the Dublin community.

As always, we are thankful for the support of some of central Ohio’s top restaurants as they join us for this lovely evening and provide our guests with their finest offerings. It’s my pleasure to announce Aladdin’s Eatery, Bleu & Fig, Bonefish Grill, Bravo! Cucina Italiana, Cafe Istanbul, Cameron’s American Bistro, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Luce Enoteca, 101 Beer Kitchen, Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern, The Conference Center at OCLC and The Sisters Sweet Shoppe will all be participating in Garden Party this year. Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits will once again provide a selection of fine wines to compliment the evening’s offerings.

In addition to restaurant support, we’re incredibly grateful for the contributions from surrounding businesses and artists that donate to our silent auction. Historically, the silent auction has raised almost half of the total event proceeds, so this year we’ve decided to up the ante. In addition to the traditional silent auction, we will host our first-ever live auction. I highly recommend preparing your bids now for a striking poppy red topaz and diamond pendant that’s valued at $1,000 and is in the process of being created specifically for Garden Party by Scott’s Custom Jewelers.

Tickets are available online and are $100 per guest. Attire is business-after-hours / casual cocktail. I sincerely hope you’ll save the date and join us for a spectacular evening supporting the arts in Dublin.

The next two months are sure to be busy (even more so than usual) as DAC board and staff secure silent auction donations, create gift baskets and prepare for this instrumental fundraiser. Stay tuned.
