We’re excited to announce a great new event we’re hosting this year in Dublin: The D’Art Dash 5k Run/Walk! This exciting new race, taking place at 9 a.m. on October 11, will raise funds to support Dublin Arts Council’s educational programming, allowing us to fulfill one of our core mission tenets of fostering life-long learning through the arts.

This isn’t just any race, though. We want you to flex your creative muscles as much as your athletic muscles, so we’re encouraging participants to come to the race in costume! Dress as your favorite piece of artwork or your favorite artist for a chance to win the costume contest portion of the event. Prizes will be awarded to the most creative costumes in both individual and group categories. The costume portion of the race is optional, but who doesn’t love an excuse to dress up?

Your registration cost includes includes the official race t-shirt, a race bib with timing chip, a race participation award ribbon and costume contest entry for those who choose.

If you’re as passionate as we are about providing ARTcamps, workshops, field trips for students and more, become an Art Lover! Art Lovers will have the opportunity to create their own fundraising page and ask others to sponsor their participation in the D’Art Dash, whether they run or not. Depending on how much you raise prior to the race, you could receive some great incentives. Art Lovers who raise $100 or more will receive a drawstring backpack filled with goodies, including an exclusive Art Lover t-shirt, an exclusive Art Lover race participation medal, and an artist-created keychain (limited quantities available). Art Lovers who raise $500 or more will receive the same Art Lover goodie bag and will have their name listed on the official race t-shirt as a silver individual sponsor, while Art Lovers who raise $1000 or more will receive the Art Lover goodie bag, will have their name listed on the official race t-shirt as a gold individual sponsor and will be invited to have lunch with DAC Executive Director David Guion and D’Art the gallery cat (photo opportunity included!).

So what are you waiting for? Click here to sign up today! D’Art promises he’ll let someone else win the race.
