Rick Braveheart and Sue King: Two Voices in the Wilderness brings together two veteran contemporary artists from central Ohio to highlight the beauty of America’s national lands and to celebrate centennial anniversary of the U.S. National Park Service. This exhibitionbrings together more than 50 works of art that are both complementary and synergistic in nature.

Braveheart is a landscape photographer whose photographs on metal and encaustic wax have an ethereal quality created by his attention to lighting, specifically the ‘sweet light’ of sunrise and sunset. He is also an accomplished quilter.

As a social worker, King focuses on figurative and portrait work that emphasize the relationship between man and the environment. Her textile artwork utilizes a bright color palette, surface design techniques such as silk screening and machine quilting. Her art quilts are informed by historic photographic images as well as her own photography.

The artwork of both artists focus on encouraging the preservation and conservation of our nation’s natural and cultural resources.

A free public reception will be held Tuesday, March 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Dr., in Dublin. Regular gallery hours: Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Details: www.dublinarts.org or 614.889.7444.
