The 34th annual Sundays at Scioto summer concert series continues on Sunday nights through July 30, 2017 in Dublin’s Scioto Park, 7377 Riverside Dr., in Dublin. If you’re a first-time concert-goer or want to get the most out of your experience with Popgun on July 23 or Six Appeal on July 30, you’ll want to check out this guide.

Upon Arrival

Be sure to get to the concert early! While arriving 30-45 minutes prior to the 7 p.m. performance will give you time to set up and get comfortable, many concert-goers prefer to arrive at least an hour before the show begins to secure their favorite spot. Scioto Park has a large viewing area facing the amphitheater, but it fills up fast! Parking is limited and can be filled to maximum capacity. And when the park is full, it closes to additional guests.

If it’s a particularly sunny Sunday, it is important that you pack both sunscreen and sunglasses. Even though the concerts take place in the evening, the sun will still be shining and SPF protection is key since you’ll be facing west! In addition, bug repellant can be helpful.

While sitting directly on the grass is an option, most guests find it more comfortable to bring either lawn chairs or a blanket. Feel free to pack games, activities, or a picnic! There is no limit to how many people you can bring, so be sure to invite the whole family. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are also welcome.

During the Concert

The concert may be taking place during some guests’ typical dinner times, but not to worry! A food truck and dessert truck will attend every concert. On July 23, check out Paddy Wagon,  614 Magazine’s best food truck of the year for 2017. On July 30, enjoy authentic German street food from A Cut Above. Both weeks, enjoy dessert from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. We’re sure you’ll find something to love each week.

During the concert, DAC staff and board members will be collecting donations which help fund the concert series. Any monetary amount is greatly appreciated, and checks are also accepted.

If you need any information during the show, stop by the DAC tent on stage right. Staff members will be able to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to visit the sponsor tents as well. They’ll have giveaways and company information on hand. Most performers also have a merchandise table, so if you would like to purchase a CD or t-shirt, be on the lookout for their setup!

Guests are also encouraged to explore the beauty of Scioto Park. The park is home to Leatherlips, DAC’s first public artwork installation in the Dublin Art in Public Places program. This native limestone sculpture is 12 feet tall and portrays the Wyandot Indian Chief who lived on the land many years ago.

After the Show

While the concert may have a large number of guests, leaving the performance is typically smooth, quick and easy. Traffic attendants and City of Dublin police will be on site to maximize efficiency. When exiting Scioto Park after the show, only right turns are permitted onto Riverside Drive.

Please be sure to pick up your trash/recyclable items, and make sure to clean up after your pets. It is important that Scioto Park stays clean and is respected by its visitors.

If you still need more information, feel free to reach out to a DAC staff member on site, or in advance by calling 614.889.7444. We hope to see you at the park!
